As a former Sales leader with over 30 years of consumer products experience, Mark brings a strong blend of retail and wholesale experience to Banister International as Managing Director, focusing on Sales & Marketing positions in Retail and Consumer Products. Before joining Banister, Mark had a successful career in both Sales and Buying, encompassing many different roles and responsibilities.
As a Sales professional, Mark spent the last twenty years in various sales management roles within the consumer products industry, working with several well known companies, including The Thermos Company. Mark held all essential sales roles during this time, including Regional Sales Management, National Accounts Management, Director of Channel Sales and Vice President of Sales. At Thermos he managed the entire 150 person internal and external sales force and led the critical transitional period when Thermos sold their $150M Gas Grill business and re-established themselves as the leader in insulated food and beverage containers.
Mark was also instrumental in dramatically growing several companies business with Walmart, Target and other key, strategic National accounts. Mark was recognized several times for his performance in managing large, profitable territories, national accounts and business units, as well as developing his team with promotions and increased responsibility.
Prior to his experience in sales, for the first fourteen years of his career, Mark held progressively increasing roles in Retail buying, inventory management, and store operations for three leading retailers in the Northeast. He developed expertise in several product categories including electronics, major and small appliances, housewares, watches and video games. He developed supplier relationships during this time that he still maintains today.
Mark is a native Bostonian, a dedicated Boston professional sports teams fan, and in his spare time is a licensed IHSA baseball umpire and basketball referee. He is also an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
